Travelling with Toddlers

I find it hard to recommend travelling with your toddler for looong stretches, as they are at that age where they are not babies, but they are not quite old enough to sit still and not get bored for an extended period of time.

As you are probably aware by now, travelling with toddlers is very different to travelling on your own. Not only in terms of the journey, but also in terms of the amount of time it takes to get ready to get out of the house.

It takes twice (or even thrice) as long to get my two girls, my hubby and myself ready, just to go on a short trip to the shopping mall. I'm sure you experience the same thing!

It's always fun to go out with your toddler, but boy, is it hard work! Personally the rewards and excitement of travelling with my toddlers certainly outweigh the negative aspects.

It Doesn't Have to be a Nightmare...

At some stage I seriously contemplated this option when things got a bit too hectic and a bit too tough, but then I thought about it again.

Doesn't this deprive you and your toddler the wonderful opportunity of experiencing new things, people and places?

Things can and do go wrong, so be prepared for the unexpected. The only way you can avoid major disappointment is with proper planning.
